7 Best New Years Beers

Irish Stout beer

Holy hell this is the coldest New Years since…ever? Ring in 2018 by cracking open one of our favorite new year beers.

2SP Baby Bob Stout – This highly developed American style takes after its father, Bob’s Russian Imperial Stout. Baby Bob is brewed with generous helpings of roasty & chocolate malts and American hops.  ABV: 6%

Evil Genius I’ll Have What She’s Having – An Imperial stout made with chocolate and hazelnut, I’ll Have What She’s Having is a strong, dark beer that only Evil Genius could come up with. This rich, creamy, over-the-top stout has layered flavors of roasted barley, molasses, chocolate, caramel and hazelnut. Not too heavy on the palate and with a surprisingly dry finish, this sturdy yet drinkable stout is perfect for the winter months. ABV: 9.4%

Dogfish Head Oak-Aged Vanilla World Wide Stout – Oak-Aged Vanilla World Wide Stout is dark and roasty. It’s brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley and aged in oak barrels with vanilla beans. With tender love and care, this beer is fostered from smooth, sweet wort into the big, bad, blackened stout it always longed to be. ABV: 16-17.5%

Great Lakes Blackout Stout – Bold and dark as a power-less metropolis, Great Lakes’ Russian Imperial stout commemorates the infamous 2003 blackout that briefly left some 55 million people utterly unplugged. Pitch-dark and rich, Blackout Stout is kindled with black malt and roasted barley, and illuminated by flickers of bitter hops. ABV: 9%

Firestone Walker Mocha Merlin – With an infusion of dark coffee, a dash of cocoa nibs and a touch of seasonal wizardry, Firestone Walker’s signature Velvet Merlin oatmeal stout has been transformed into Mocha Merlin – a roasty, chocolaty brew that will warm your soul. ABV: 5.5%

Narragansett Autocrat Coffee Milk Stout – Autocrat Coffee Milk Stout is a collaboration between an iconic Rhode Island beer and the region’s most beloved coffee company, Autocrat… over 100 years of shared local heritage. Dark and delicious, Autocrat coffee lends its profile to bittersweet milk stout. Flavors of chocolate malt, midnight wheat malt and rich crystal malt are complemented by milk sugar to produce a creamy body and mouth feel. The mellow flavor is balanced with the perfect touch of hops.  ABV: 5.3%

Big Gruesome Chocolate Peanut Butter Stout – Creamy, malty and full-bodied, Big Gruesome Stout is scary good. The intense, roasty flavor comes from two types of chocolate malt and raw cocoa nibs. The stout is then aged on whole vanilla beans and more raw cocoa nibs to enhance the chocolate flavors. Rich peanut butter is introduced throughout the entire brewing process to make this stout even more gruesome. ABV: 8.3%
