The folks at Dock Street have been working on an expansion for nearly a year, and today, the new location called Dock Street South, officially opens its doors to the public!
Earlier this week, we were lucky enough to get a sneak peek at the new facility, and it’s awesome!
Located at 2118 Washington Avenue in the South Philly neighborhood of Point Breeze, the space is 10,500 square-feet and breaks down into a 550 square-foot lounge and a 3,000 square-foot dining room that includes seating for 120 diners, as well as 24 more seats at the bar. Dock Street South has an elegant yet industrial vibe that includes walls adorned with artwork created by local artists, exposed ceilings, modern furniture and a sleek, silver maple bar.
While Dock Street’s West Philly brewery is known for delicious, hand-tossed, wood-fired pizzas, the menu at Dock Street South is wildly different, with dishes curated by Philip Breen, a Starr Restaurants alum. Focusing on modern Mediterranean & European small plates, as well as a few Sicilian dishes mixed in, Dock Street South offers crafty sandwich dishes on rustic bread, inventive salads and international “cafeteria classics”.
The new location brings a fresh flare to the brewery’s already impressive presence in Philadelphia. With unique, international-focused food, 12 taps of Dock Street’s best brews and stunning views of the Philadelphia skyline, Dock Street South is worth checking out ASAP!
