Scan The Shelves: New Beers to Look For in January

2019 is here and a new year means NEW BEER! There is a lot of beer slated to hit the shelves this year and to ensure that beer lovers get 2019 started the right way, we’ve put together a list of some beers releasing in January to keep an eye out for.

Sierra Nevada Sierraveza

Style: Lager  ABV: 5.0%

Sierra Nevada is coming off of a successful year with their Hazy Little Thing IPA and their Resilience Butte County Proud IPA. Naturally, this year they’re moving full steam ahead and releasing Sierraveza.

This light and easy lager will add another smooth-drinking beer to the Sierra Nevada portfolio. At 5.0% ABV, Sierra Nevada takes inspiration from classic cervezas and puts their spin on the style. With a balanced malt flavor and some floral hops, the Sierraveza will be the go-to option to drink all day, especially in the summer months or whenever you can find a comfy beach!

Firestone Walker Mind Haze IPA

Style: IPA  ABV: 6.2%

One of the year’s most anticipated new IPAs, Firestone Walker’s Mind Haze will be a 6.2% Hazy IPA that comes in 12 oz. cans. Adding a fresh hazy IPA to the Firestone lineup looks to be a home run for this Paso Robles brewery, considering how big the style grew in 2018.

Stone Tropic of Thunder Lager

Style: Lager  ABV: 5.8%

Stone will also be getting into the lager game with Tropic of Thunder. Being a brewery that specializes in IPAs, Stone steps into some new, exciting territory with this offering! Tropic of Thunder is something extremely fresh and adds an easy-drinker into their lineup with the beer landing at only 5.8% ABV.

With a combination of citra, mosaic and cashmere hops, Stone’s Tropic of Thunder delivers a tropical storm with aromas of citrus, pineapple, and coconut. This should be another good beer to look for most months when you want something light to drink throughout an entire day!
