With spring officially starting at the end of the month, March begins to introduce beers that will carry us into the warm weather. This means that heavy stouts and porters will slowly melt away with the snow, while light, fruit-forward brews will emerge with the spring flowers!
Firestone Walker Rosalie
Rosé Ale | 5.0%
Self-described as “the rosé lover’s beer,” Firestone Walker has put together a real wine and beer hybrid with Rosalie. Diving into the brewery’s roots of being started on a California vineyard, Rosalie utilizes locally harvested wine grapes to get an authentic rosé flavor and profile. Combining this with hibiscus gives this beer the best parts of rosé and beer for a tasty alcoholic concoction. Light, boozy and refreshing, Firestone Walker’s Rosalie is a perfect pool-sipper in the spring and summer months.
Weyerbacher Mean Squeeze
IPA | 7%
Despite the mean appearance, this IPA from Weyerbacher is very lovely. A straightforward 7% East Coast-style IPA, Mean Squeeze is bursting with flavors of pineapple, citrus and pine. Using Denali hops gives this beer its tropical flavors, while Galaxy hops enhance the citrus and fruit qualities even further. The pine flavor rounds everything out, giving Mean Squeeze a delightful balance.
Sly Fox Grisette
Belgian Wheat Saison | 5.6%
Grisette is a refreshing beer that has the funky qualities of a saison, as well as the fruity qualities of a hefeweizen. The flavors mainly consist of citrus and orange, while malt and grain balance everything out. Sly Fox has created a beer that takes the best qualities of a saison and a hefeweizen and combines them to create something unique and delicious.
