For some of us, the mere thought of getting ready for the holidays is exhausting. Then suddenly you see something that overrides the bah-humbug switch in your brain. A vision of sugar plums? No, it’s just the label gracing that delicious, limited-release beer you love to share with your friends.
Suddenly it’s beginning to look like… you’ve got some fun in your forecast. These visual cues always do it for us. Let them work their magic on you too.
Sly Fox Christmas Ale
Love winter seasonals loaded with your favorite spices? Sly Fox has you covered. A beer whose recipe changes year to year, Sly Fox’s 2018 version is a beer brewed with cloves, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. This year’s label features some gingerbread friends ready to celebrate.
Heavy Seas Schnee Boot
With colder temps comes some big beers, with heavy hitting ABVs. Heavy Seas got in on the fun this holiday season, with Schnee Boot – the strongest beer they’ve ever created. A bourbon barrel-aged Eisbock, this 13% lager was inspired by Antarctic exploration (Schnee Boot translates to “snow boat”). The husky polar bear on the label is sure to get you in the holiday spirit.
Port Brewing Santa’s Little Helper
Port Brewing says, “this is one seriously naughty beer.” Clocking in at 10% ABV, Santa’s Little Helper is a winter classic, with strong dark cocoa and roasted coffee flavors, perfect for a snowy evening indoors.
Neshaminy Creek Mudbank Milk Stout
Croydon, PA’s own Neshaminy Creek brews their Mudbank Milk Stout each year with 2-row barley, Victory, Munich and Carapils malts. It’s then rounded out with lactose sugar and flaked oats to make this one of the most well-balanced winter stouts you’re likely to get your hands on.
While most breweries stick to dark porters or spiced winter warmers for the holiday season, Sixpoint’s aim is to melt your face off with hops. Their brand new, seasonal brew Meltdown is a lush, hazy double IPA that is straight up packed with dry hops.
Harpoon Dunkin’ Coffee Porter
Harpoon has been brewing their seasonal classic Winter Warmer for 30 years, but this year, they added this rookie to their winter lineup by partnering with Dunkin’ for their new Dunkin’ Coffee Porter. This 6% rich and roasty porter is easy-drinking, just as you’d expect.
