One of the biggest beer trends in 2019 has been better-for-you. Tons of consumers are putting greater focus on the amount of calories and carbs that they ingest on a daily basis, even when it comes to their beer. Hard seltzers have been the main product to drive the category, but breweries have quickly jumped on board with the trend and have been creating new beers that hover around the 100 calorie mark with around 5 or less carbs.
Blue Moon is the next major player to get in on the health and wellness segment, with a product called Light Sky Citrus Wheat. The beer is brewed with tangerine peel, has a 4% ABV and has only 95 calories and 3.6g carbs. No release date has been announced yet, but the product will at least start out in 12 oz. slim cans.
Light Sky isn’t a low-cal version of Blue Moon’s classic Belgian White – it’s its own beer, putting an emphasis on orange flavors that are extremely refreshing.
