Charlie Papazian Announces His Departure From The Brewers Association

Yesterday The Brewers Association announced that, after 40 years of leadership, homebrewing legend and craft beer ambassador Charlie Papazian will exit his post. Taking his leave on January 23, 2019, his 70th birthday, Papazian leaves a legacy of “building the craft brewing community and inspiring brewers and beer lovers around the world.”

Bob Pease, president and CEO of the Brewers Association said yesterday, “We are all here today because of Charlie Papazian. His influence on the homebrewing and craft brewing community is immeasurable. Who could have predicted that a simple wooden spoon, ingenuity and passion would spawn a community of more than one million homebrewers and 6,000 small and independent U.S. craft breweries.”
