Dark Beer Season is Here

Although we’re still getting some random 55+ degree days during November here in Pennsylvania, it is officially dark beer season! While the fall months certainly help usher in darker styles, this is the time of year that menus and stores begin to fill up with delicious dark liquids worth trying. To help spread the word and offer some guidance into the world of dark beers, we’ve thrown together a list of delicious brews worth trying…if you can find them!

Guinness Over The Moon Milk Stout

Milk Stout | 5.3% 

Over The Moon Milk Stout is an original creation from the Guinness Open Gate Brewery Taproom in Baltimore and has quickly become a top performer. Smooth and sweet, this beer has classic milk stout creaminess filled with flavor combinations of espresso and chocolate. It all comes together as a delicious beer.



Cape May King Porter Stomp

Baltic Porter | 7.4%

Cape May Brewing Company’s King Porter Stomp is a heavier porter at 7.4% ABV and delivers a full flavor profile. This beer is medium-bodied and has a creamy aroma. There is a heavy focus on chocolate flavor, which rounds out a nice robust profile.


Shiner Holiday Cheer

Dunkelweizen | 5.4%

Shiner Holiday Cheer is one of the brewery’s staple seasonal options. This dunkelweizen takes a darker German style and incorporates Texas peaches and roasted pecans into the brewing process. This brings out amazing flavors that are perfect in front of a fire during the winter season.
