Earlier this year Dogfish Head and Rodenbach announced that they would be joining forces to collaborate on a beer together. This was huge news considering Rodenbach is one of the most awarded breweries in the world and is known for their high quality sour beer, while Dogfish Head is a trailblazer in the US craft industry. These two brewing giants both bring incredible amounts of innovation, knowledge and skill to the beer world, which is why we were so psyched about this announcement.
With sour beers gaining tons of popularity in recent years and continuing to gain traction in 2019, the partnership between Rodenbach and Dogfish Head couldn’t happen at a better time. Dogfish Head has seen big success with their SeaQuench Ale and Rodenbach Classic was recently launched in 16 oz. cans.
News of the partnership initially broke back in late January of this year, with no additional information out there until now. We finally have a sneak peek of the collab beer artwork, product description, and ABV percentage… and oh man does it sound good!
The beer is named Vibrant P’Ocean, a clever play on words that is described as,
“A cross-Atlantic collaboration that melds the old-world charm of a 2-year foeder sour with the funky irreverence of an elderberry, elderflower & fleur de-sel kettle sour.”
This sour clocks in at 6.7% ABV and will be released on draft and in 12 oz. cans. There is no other information out there currently, but it seems like this collaboration is going to meet the expectation surrounding it. Old sour meets new, which should be a big treat for fans of sour styles.
Hopefully we get a release date before the end of the year!
