Philly’s Can’t Miss Oktoberfest Events

Oktoberfest beers are already hitting the shelves and taps, and before you know it, the Oktoberfest celebrations will be happening all around the city. Below we’ve laid out a list of some of the city’s best places to enjoy great beer and German fun.

Brauhaus Schmitz 11th Annual South Street Oktoberfest

    • Date: Saturday, September 21st
    • Time: 12PM – 8PM
    • Location: South Street

Pop down to South Street to partake in the 11th Annual South Street Oktoberfest held by Brauhaus Schmitz. This is one of the best all-day festivals in the city that has been putting on a killer event for 11 years now! The event is pay as your go through tokens but there is also a VIP ticket with some additional perks. The upgraded ticket gets you access to private bathrooms (huge for a full day of drinking), a buffet, 7 beer & food tokens, a liter mug to use and take home, and of course some free Brauhaus swag. You can’t go wrong with the Brauhaus event that takes over South Street!

Frankford Hall’s Oktoberfest Celebration

Frankford Hall is another big Oktoberfest celebration in Philly that you don’t want to miss. Located in Frankford Ave. in Fishtown, Frankford Hall is a German biergarten for the 21st century. This open space offers a massive variety of beer, including all your classic German brands. Their menu is geared towards German-style foods and their Oktoberfest event takes everything up a notch. Partnering with barbecue restaurant Fette Sau, Frankford Hall’s Oktoberfest party is tons of fun. Check out the event page on their Facebook for additional event details.

Newtown Beer Fest

    • Location: The Stocking Works

While this isn’t specifically an Oktoberfest celebration, it falls on the same weekend and focuses on bringing people together with great beer and awesome food. The Newtown Beer Fest is celebrating 10 years with a day full of drinking, eating, and live music. If you’re in the Bucks County area and want to do something fun without travelling far, the Newtown Beer Fest is an event worth checking out! Oktoberfest Live! 2019 – Hosted by Xfinity Live

    • Date: Saturday, September 21st
    • Time: 2PM – 6PM
    • Location: Xfinity Live

Those looking for a beer fest in the city should head to Xfinity. This Oktoberfest party was rated a Top 10 Oktoberfest in the country by USA Today. Offering unlimited samples of your favorite beers, you can wander through 7 different indoor and outdoor areas full of different beer and food. Live music will be going all day and food trucks will also be showcasing their fare. You’ll even receive a custom stein. Uptoberfest @ Uptown Beer Garden

Uptoberfest returns to the Uptown Beer Garden for the 4th year in a row! Join in on the fun as everyone celebrates the closing of the season for Uptown Beer Garden with tons of beer, food and music. Guests will be dressed in Oktoberfest-inspired outfits, traditional German food & drink will be available, and you can even get your yearly dosage of Bavarian Polka.
