Pumpkin Honey Beer Bread

Many people’s favorite season is right around the corner and you know what that means… it’s pumpkin time! Soft, sweet and full of delicious pumpkin flavor, this versatile beer bread is the perfect accompaniment to a hearty meal, or enjoy it with a cup of coffee for breakfast!

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup pumpkin ale
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 (15 oz.) can pumpkin puree
  • 1½ tsp. kosher salt
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
  • 3½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat a 9×13 pan with nonstick spray and set aside. In the bowl of your stand mixer, fitted with the paddle attachment, mix sugar, pumpkin ale, honey and oil together on medium-low until combined. Add eggs, pumpkin, salt, baking soda, baking powder and pumpkin pie spice. Continue mixing on medium-low until smooth.

Turn mixer to low and add flour. Mix until just combined. Don’t overmix.

Pour batter into prepared baking dish and bake for 50-55 minutes, or until set in the middle. If bread starts to brown on top or around edges too much, lightly tent pan with aluminum foil.

When bread is done, make the glaze. Combine butter, sugar, water and vanilla into small saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir continuously until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved. Do not bring to a boil.

Poke holes all over warm bread, using a knife and pour glaze evenly on the top, while still in the pan. Allow to cool completely before serving.
